After years of "heavy metal" operation, Art opts for a lightweight, minimalist approach with a DX-40 driving an Ameritron AL-811 amp.  With amplifier-friendly controlled-carrier modulation from the DX-40, this setup produces a respectable 200-watt carrier.  The receiver is a Drake R4-C, the antenna tuner is 100% homebrew and the whole thing is controlled with a relay sequencer for T/R changeover.
