 HATE CRIMES and MASS MURDER

In nearly every massacre we researched, hate speech preceded acts of violence. In essence, mass murderers, as opposed to serial killers, announce by speech and action, their intentions, long beforehand. Pay attention. Monsters live among us.

The hermit weirdo killer, like the Unabomber, is difficult to identify, The sexual predator whose perverted motivation is killing a sex partner, is equally difficult to catch  Unabombers usually go after individuals, but even then, they express their intense hatred of persons who are, in the killers' eyes, representatives of societal classes; often prostitutes. It is my sense that of all monsters, these have been the most difficult to apprehend. They appear to be as normal most of the time as you and me.

In practically every instance, mass killings are perpetrated with an automatic weapon. In an overwhelming number of cases, a significant overabundance of weapons and ammunition are found in their possession. Pipe bombs, including all types of explosives, improvised explosive devices, and in a few instances, military hand grenades and poison, even poison gas, is used, making Assad of Syria the leading mass killer since Adolph Hitler.

A tipoff: Mass killers never have enough weapons. They compulsively hoard long guns, handguns and dozens of 10-shot clips. They never deal in them. Every weapon is precious. Show me anyone who would carry six automatic handguns of the same make and model around in a special case, as was discovered last week, and I'll show you someone who needs to be locked-up.

The absolute weapon of choice in mass killings by far is the AR-15. More victims have been shot during a rampage by a bullet fired from an AR-15 knockoff than from any other weapon. Nut cases soon learn that one does not have to be a sharpshooter when the AR-15 is used and is most effective when sprayed in machine-gun mode into a crowd. As for handguns, the Glock 9-millimeter automatic leads the pack for packers.

An entirely different class of mass killer are Terrorists, who usually act with other Terrorists—The brothers who set off bombs at the Boston Marathon, for example. These kind of mass killers have an agenda, and because of this reason and their motivation, they are the most dangerous class of all mass murderers.
