AMERICANS ARE THE WORLD'S BEST PROBLEM SOLVERS

After hearing on National Public Radio (NPR) recently that there are now far more guns in America than people, I began to feel better about the terrorist threat—as far as identifying and keeping terrorists from breaching the walls of fortress America. Quoting the Congressional Research Service, we, the people of the United States, own more than 300-million firearms—twice as many as there were in our hands in 1968. This is more than the firepower held by the entire Axis military might of Germany, Italy and Japan on D-Day. Inane statement of the year: we ought to stop using them to kill each other.

There is no doubt in my mind that a frontal assault on the USA by Islamic Terrorists, or any other armed force, would be thrown back almost immediately.

If another strike comes, it will be 9/11 all over again; in other words, sabotage.  Only a great worldwide intelligence network can insure it won't happen again.

We need a little help from our friends in destroying ISIS/ISIL (The so-called Islamic State).  NATO needs to recruit the greatest army every fielded, to crush this aberration or continue to suffer the consequences. We and a coalition also should ostracize and boycott the members of the Arab league for their waiting for the USA to solve their problems.

Maybe, just maybe, Comrade Putin of Russia is getting the message. We certainly hope so.

We are our own worst enemy. Take Chicago...please.  64 people were shot there over the Memorial Day weekend. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, five more were killed and 42 wounded this past Sunday, July 17th.

The Gun Violence Archive says on their website that there have been 29,021 incidences of "gun violence" in the USA so far this year. Whatever it takes, we must stop this insanity within our borders.

Yes, Black Lives Matter...as well as Brown, Yellow, White, Red, and Police Blue, but the one fact that jumps out at me from all of the statistics is this: The New York Times reported this week that an analysis of 358 shootings in America in 2015, demonstrates that three fourths of the victims were Black and roughly a third were gang related killing of Blacks by Blacks.

We all need to reflect on this carnage and how, by all us working cooperatively, change can be wrought on the heels of better education of the marginalized underclass to give them better opportunities for worthwhile employment. That's the solution: Education and Jobs. Produce more jobs, not more jails!

When called upon, Americans will work together to achieve success. We're going to do it once again. America's Greatest Generation did not come into being during World War II. They have been born since September 2, 1945, The day Japan surrendered.  I'm talking about you.
